Read the Weather. Time the Flight.

Every flyway has a migration fingerprint — the birds it carries, when they push, and the weather that moves them. Learn the birds, watch the fronts, and be set up when the flight hits.

The Daily Clock
How to Hunt It — Hour by Hour
1
Roost
Night – legal light

Sits big, safe water — refuges, warm sloughs, rivers. Bump a roost once and the hunt is over for a week.

Run It
Scout from a distance at dusk
Never hunt the roost
2
Morning Flight
First 90 minutes

Trades low off the roost toward feed, working holes in timber and marsh. The classic decoy hunt.

Run It
Small spread, leave a landing hole
Call on the corners, quiet overhead
3
Midday Loaf
10am – 3pm

Back on quiet loafing water — logs, sandbars, sheltered pockets. Singles and pairs trickle all day.

Run It
Jerk cord beats spinners at midday
Jump-shoot creeks between flights
4
Evening Feed
Last 2 hours

Pushes hard to dry-field corn and rice before dark, feeding in big wads.

Run It
Run traffic between roost and feed
Be on the X or don’t bother
